What are Life Groups?

At the heart of our mission as a church is the invitation to experience the true hope for real life through the good news of Jesus Christ and His Kingdom. While we have several main avenues to experience that true hope for real life, our Life Groups hold a unique and crucial place in our ministry. Life Groups are the front-lines for pastoral care, knowing and being known, and encouragement in the Christian life.

Life Groups are designed to create a space and time for each person in our church to:

Belong

Connection, relationship, and welcome.

Believe

Growth in grace, learning how to pray, and engaging God’s Word.

Become

Encouragement to live out and embody the Kingdom of God in ordinary life and relationships.

Adult Sunday School meets each week from September-May (excluding major holidays) and the aim is simply to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). We have two offerings this half of the semester, with this one meeting from 10:00-10:45am in the Adult Ed room upstairs.  We’d love for you to join us, as we reflect upon the Scriptures and wrestle with how to live out the gospel of grace.

This class is meeting in the Multi-Purpose room and is intended for parents or soon-to-be parents who desire to learn more about raising their children in a household oriented around Christ and his love.

Men's Cohorts

All men are welcome to join a weekly cohort, where we will spend part of the time connecting and part of the time studying the Bible. Multiple days and times are available, and no prior Bible knowledge is required. We meet during the school year with a break starting at Christmas. Please let us know when you can meet, and we’ll do our best to get you in a group.

Men's Meetups

Our men’s meetups happen roughly monthly and generally take place at lunchtime at a downtown restaurant or in the evening at a local watering hole. Check our calendar for upcoming meetups.

Women's Bible Study

With a goal towards embodying the “true hope for real life” vision of Hope Church, we long for WBS to be a place where women experience the embrace of the Father through informed, clear, and Christ-centered teaching and through sincere, intentional fellowship. We seek to equip women by teaching the fundamentals of the Christian faith, by training women to study Scripture, and by creating a space where each woman feels known and cared for. To live out this vision, we are committed to Biblical expository teaching. To live out this vision, we are committed to providing a setting where women can form authentic relationships and know each others’ stories in a loving, supportive, and prayer centered environment.

The Format of Women's Bible Study

We meet on Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11:30 (with childcare) and on Tuesday evenings from 7-8:30 (without childcare). We devote our time to four activities following a brief time of socializing at the beginning. Because Tuesday Evening is shorter, they do not sing.

Small Group Discussion

Your small group will use a discussion guide to explore the passage together.

Teaching

Each week, a member of our teaching team explains the passage we are studying.

Worship

We start and end each week with worship.

Sharing and Prayer

You'll have a chance to share how God is speaking to you and to pray for each other.

Gathering Hour

A monthly morning of fellowship for women, with the purpose of connection. Coffee and nibbles will be provided and childcare is included. Friends and neighbors are welcome!

Wednesday Evening Study

Our Wednesday Evening Women’s Study studies a book and meets at the home of Sandy Carter at 7pm.
