Dear Hope Church Family,
I am thrilled to finally update you on a vital addition to our church staff. On January 2nd, Melissa Williard will begin her work at Hope as our brand-new, first-ever Director of Administration. A heartfelt thanks to all who prayed for and helped in the search process.
Perhaps a brief reminder of the reason we created this position is in order. Some administrative tasks and decisions can siphon off focus and generate sideways energy for the pastoral team and staff with the unfortunate result that forward momentum is stymied and the best use of time and gifting are not realized. The Session recognized the need for more robust administration and support for the staff so that we can have more focused time on the particulars of our primary avenues of ministry. The Director of Administration position will provide executive management and support for the staff and ministries of the church at a high level. She’ll oversee the daily operations of the church from Planning Center to our financial systems to our Personnel/HR needs to Volunteer Coordination and much more in between, as well as supervise our Bookkeeper, Sexton, Office Assistant, and Communications Specialist. She will be the caretaker and pacesetter for healthy systems and structures so that the undergirding foundations and rhythms of ministry are solid, consistent, and sustainable.
Melissa comes to Hope with a wealth of expertise, wisdom, and real-world experience in administration, and she is a woman who loves the Lord and serves His church with all that she has. We could not be happier to have her throw her lot in with us and to experience the Lord’s kind provision for Hope Church.
Grace and peace,
