Dear Hope Family,
November 5 we are kicking off a year round food drive to benefit the Clemmons Food pantry.
You might wonder why – and I’d love to tell you.
The Clemmons Food Pantry is serving 800+ households each month! And they’re doing it with volunteers and donations from local food stores, businesses and families. They are feeding the nations – people from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Thailand, and many nations from south of our border. They’re feeding the elderly, the infirm, and the struggling. I have been volunteering there for almost four years, and I wish you could see the faces of those we serve – and hear their stories.
We are a church of 139 families, and individually, we can help, but as a church we can make a huge difference. If each household brought one item a week, that is 139 items that we can donate – and over a month, that’s 556 items!
You will be receiving a refrigerator magnet that offers suggestions each month for items you can bring. There will be bins outside each door to worship, and a box outside the office for you to drop off your donations. And feel free to donate whatever else you’d like – the more the merrier. We know how hard it is to remember to donate weekly, so we’ve set up a Remind texting group. If you would like to get a reminder at 8am on Sunday morning, please subscribe here.
If you’d like to make a financial donation, you can bring a check made out to the Clemmons Food Pantry and sent with this form or you can give online through Paypal. If you’d like to consider volunteering, you can check out their opportunities online.
Gratefully,
Jean Moser
