Looking Up: December 2nd, 2022

Occupation: Project manager for a commercial construction company.

God’s work in my life:
“Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,” would be a phrase that summarizes God’s work in my life. The struggles and challenges of this life can feel overbearing, the weight of things simply not being the way they “ought” to be. Yet I find that God never leaves me unmet. Daily He holds me up through His word and through fellowship with other believers.

My life has been marked by the joys and challenges of career and job changes, physical injury, and the raising of four children. However, the greatest challenge by far has been raising a child with medical and developmental special needs. From before Claire’s diagnosis, through the search for possible treatments, to her ongoing one on one care, there have been some desperate times. God has shown his faithfulness in providing medical care, financial resources, and friendships to sustain me during this journey. He has graciously allowed Jeanne and I to remain harmonious, continually growing towards each other and constantly strengthening our marriage. God has truly been faithful in my life and because of that, I have a bright hope for tomorrow. I look forward to the future plans that He has for me.

How do you rest or play:
I am most content when I have my “hands in” something. Home repair or remodeling. Car maintenance, repair, and restoration. To me there is nothing more restful or satisfying than seeing the progress of your work and the result. For exercise I run, though I don’t consider myself a runner. I like being outside on road or trail, either running alone, or better yet, with a few good friends.
