Dear Hope Family,
A few years ago our family went skiing at Big Sky in Montana. I was struggling a bit with my skiing and at the recommendation of Jeff, husband, I decided to take a ski lesson. On the ski lift with my instructor, he asked what type of work I do. As I tried to explain what I do in Christian ministry, he asked if I did much teaching. I answered, yes, I actually do a fair amount of teaching the Bible. He encouraged me that it was good I was taking the ski lesson because anyone who teaches should always be putting themselves in the position of a learner. I consider this wise advice from a young ski instructor!
As we approach a hot, sweaty summer, I remember that chilly day on the ski lift and the words of the instructor that teachers should always be learners. This Summer, there are two opportunities to be a learner that I am participating in at Hope and I invite others to join me.
Ethan has already done a great job informing and inviting you to our Summer Bible Training beginning June 15. This will be a great opportunity to learn more together about studying God’s Word. Whether you actually ever teach the Bible or not, all believers can learn how to personally study it and we invite you to join us for five sessions focused on digging deeper into God’s Word. So register and join us beginning June 15!
On Saturday, July 16, our women’s ministry event planning team has planned a service opportunity for women (and any tween or teen daughter who would like to participate). Noelle Coutellier will be leading this creative endeavor where we will be making cards that will be used to encourage those who are facing difficult situations such as illness or crisis. Participating in this event might not be something I would choose to do since I am worse at art and visual creativity than I am at skiing! So this is definitely an opportunity for me to learn. Noelle assures me that she can help even me create a card that is presentable to send to others! So come join me for an opportunity to build relationships with other women while creating together. Whether you are an amazing artist or someone like me who is just hoping to create something that looks presentable, please register and join us on July 16!
I am thankful for the opportunity we have to learn together and grow in our relationship with Jesus at Hope. I look forward to learning and growing in our Summer Bible Study Training and at our Women’s Service Opportunity this summer.
Holding on to the Hope,
