For Members of Hope Church
We would love to have you serve with the Hope Springs Ministry. Our ministry is a God-motivated “calling” to be with the special needs population. We never want a volunteer to feel “obligated” to serve on our team. The different levels of commitment are described below. If you are interested in one or a combination of these opportunities to serve with Hope Springs, please email us.
Buddy Ministry
Currently, our greatest need is in the area of our Buddy Ministry. Buddies are 1:1 helpers who meet a parent/caregiver’s specific requests for their family member during Sunday school, the worship service, or often, both. No prior experience is needed and training is provided. You will shadow a current Buddy until you feel comfortable to be on your own. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, but in some circumstances, volunteers ages 14-17 may shadow another Buddy. To become a Buddy, you must be a member or regular attender of Hope church. All Buddy volunteers must go through the same protocol as is required for Hope’s regular Children’s Ministry and are subject to the approval of the Hope Springs committee members. Buddies are scheduled once every 4-6 weeks to serve in this role. However, that time commitment may be more or less depending on the number of Buddy volunteers we have in place at any given time.
Special Event Helper
A few times a year, we will plan special events; brunches, “parent/caregiver nights out” for special needs families, movie/film showings, pampering day, etc. You would assist with the day/night event in a variety of ways in which you may choose.
Meal Provider
Helping families who have a member with medical and behavioral issues beyond the norm, means caring for these families when unplanned “surprises” occur. Traveling for medical care, hospitalization, etc., may mean that providing a meal would really provide temporary help.
Prayer Partner
Be a prayer warrior for both the special needs individuals and the ministry itself. Occasionally, you will receive specific ways to pray for Hope Springs and the families involved in this ministry.
