Dear Hope Family,
I wonder if you are as aware as I am that we have an embarrassment of riches with pastoral and teaching resources in our congregation. Francis and Bonnie Smith joined our church this past fall after Francis officially retired from full-time pastoral ministry at Meadowview PCA in Lexington, NC. They have been a rich blessing of energy, time-tested wisdom, and joy in our midst, and I am so pleased that Francis has agreed to preach for us this Sunday from Psalm 34. Please pray for Francis and welcome them warmly if you have not had a chance to make the connection yet!
I also wanted to update you all on our search to fill our vacant Office Administrator position. Jeanne Lenham has graciously stepped up to be our interim administrator while we conduct a thorough search. Jeanne will be in the office two days a week for the duration of our search process with office hours mostly in the mornings. Please thank Jeanne and pray for her as she fills the gap and helps keep us in line for this season of life! If you know of anyone who would like to apply for the position on a more permanent basis, you may refer them to me directly (email@example.com).
Lastly, please pray for me and my family as we will be away for almost two weeks at Camp Greystone outside of Flat Rock, NC. It is a wonderful time of ministry in a different context, sharpening the sword, planning for our fall and advent sermon series, having some extended time to listen to God’s voice for the next steps in our ministry together, and sweet, restful time as a family together in a place that helps us to remember whose we are and who we are.
I will look forward to being back in the pulpit on August 12th as we continue our steady march through the book of Ephesians and take up the light and fluffy topic of Christian marriage!
Grace and peace,
