I do have some good news to report this morning with regard to some of our lingering staffing needs, and with that good news, I appeal to you to keep praying for God’s provision of everything we need for faithfulness to His work in and through our church:
- This week we welcomed James Clements as our new church Sexton. The Sexton is a new position at Hope, and it helps to supplement the hard work of our Deacons as well as ensure prompt attention to maintenance needs that arise. James will oversee the daily, boots-on-the-ground maintenance of our church – a whole host of tasks from patching dings in the dry-wall to deep cleaning of the nursery rooms to performing the safety checks on the elevator to monitoring the thermostat – and much more besides! We are so thankful that God led us to James and James to us. I am looking forward to you meeting him soon.
- While we are still sad to say farewell to Elizabeth Koneru and her family, we are encouraged that God has raised up some excellent candidates from within our congregation to serve as the next Nursery Coordinator at Hope. Please pray for wisdom and discernment as we move forward in the hiring process.
As I daily encounter the demands of life in a broken world – from my own failures and hurts and needs to the failures and hurts and needs I am honored to walk through with you as you experience them, I am taking more and more comfort from our sermon passage this week, Ephesians 3: 20-21: He is able, and he is at work through it all!
Grace and peace,
