Dear Hope Family,
It is a real treat for me to be able to minister to our students and families. One of my great joys is seeing our teens grow up before my eyes, not only physically and emotionally, but spiritually as well. This Sunday we will have the chance to honor and pray for our graduating seniors, a class of six young ladies who will be going in all different directions this fall.
I am not only thankful for them, but I am also thankful for their parents, small group leaders, mentors, Young Life leaders, and so many others who have committed their time to pray for, listen to, counsel, teach, encourage, and cheer for them. When our children are baptized, the church vows to come alongside parents in the discipleship of their children, and when those children graduate from high school and launch into the world, we see the fruit of those vows and the fact that God has kept his covenant with us.
As you pray for Hope Church, please also remember the wider church. Our denomination, the Presbyterian Church in America, is gathering as a “General Assembly” next week, where ministers and elders will worship Jesus, pray together, and engage in the business of the church. May God’s will be done in our local, lowercase “c” church, as well as our national, capital “C” Church.
See you on Sunday!
