Dear Hope Church Family and Friends,
This Sunday we will consider what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. Part of the design and the beauty of Christ’s Church is that older generations pour into the younger generations through discipleship—teaching, serving, friendships, and day-to-day life together—as Titus 2 prescribes. As we look for more intentional ways to build this cross-generational model, it can often feel like we’re asking for more volunteers yet again!
Events like Parents’ Night Out are designed to do more than provide free childcare. They’re also ways that we:
- connect multiple generations,
- introduce experienced parents with newer parents,
- serve families in our community, and
- enable parents to grow in their marriages.
We were encouraged by the gratitude our parents expressed at the first event, and even more so at how much our volunteers were blessed by the experience. Our next Parents’ Night Out is June 1st, 5:00-8:00pm, but we’ve found ourselves very short of adult volunteers. Would you consider serving by signing up here?
As we remember Memorial Day this weekend and honor those who have given their lives for our sake, let’s also consider the One who gave his life for his enemies on the cross and graced us with a freedom—the ultimate freedom—which is available not just for us Americans, but for every tribe, nation, and tongue.
See you Sunday!
