Dearest Hope Family,
For several weeks now I have been asking for your prayers and for your input as we try to navigate yet another need to reimagine our gatherings for corporate worship – the most formative and essential aspect of our life together as Hope Church.
The Session met this week to consider some of the options for moving forward with gathered worship. Your input via the congregational surgery was crucial for us to chart our next steps and we remain deeply thankful for your participation. The survey helped us in several specific ways: it confirmed the necessity of the livestream, affirmed the need to keep an outdoor option for folks who are not comfortable with indoor gatherings at this point, and exposed the need to do some more planning and praying about potential childcare options.
Here’s where we are headed for the foreseeable future:
November 8th, we will retain the current schedule of 10:30am livestreamed indoor worship and a 4:00pm Vespers service outdoors. These services will offer the same content and liturgy but the outdoor service will aim for a shorter length (45 minutes).
Beginning November 15th, we will offer an indoor worship service beginning at 9:30am and running until 10:45am. It will be livestreamed and follow the conventional format of our current morning service. We will offer a second gathered worship service option outdoors at 11:15am, and it will run until 12:00pm. Both services will celebrate the Lord’s Supper.
Beginning November 15th, Sunday School will run concurrently with the earlier of the morning services and will also be available on our Facebook page if you are not able to attend the live teaching on Sunday morning. The Children’s Sunday School similarly is recorded and available all day on Sundays.
Please continue to pray as we try to implement yet another change. I am confident and excited to push into new territory and glad that we get to do this together!
Grace and peace,
