On the lighter side for me and my family last night was the realization that we had already worked our way through most of our “hurricane food” – Yikes!
Aside from the storm watching and waiting, this has been an eventful week for our church:
- We were very pleased to announce a new focus of ministry for Deanne Trollinger, who will shift from overseeing our Children’s Ministry to become our Director of Women’s Ministry. I hope that by now you have received the pastoral letter that details the vision and logistics behind the creation of this new staff position and Deanne’s eminent qualifications to head that for us. If for some reason you have not received a copy of the mailing, please let us know so that we can provide you a copy.
- The letter also announced Julie Money’s decision to resign from her long tenure as our Director of Worship and Arts. Julie’s official last Sunday will be September 30th. We are deeply thankful for the investment Julie has made in the life of our church and doing whatever necessary to ensure we can gather for worship with meaningful, excellent music and liturgy. We are grateful that Abigail Johnston will continue to serve as our Interim Director of Worship as we map out how best to fill this crucial position for our congregation moving forward.
- September 13th marked a significant milestone for Hope Presbyterian Church – 20 years of corporate worship! We will celebrate this Sunday after church with a birthday cake. So make room for a little slice of cake in Hope’s honor after the service.
As always, if you have questions or concerns about any of this, please let me and the Elders know how we can be of service and support to you.
Grace and peace,
