Dearest Hope Family,
Two updates for our community today:
Memorial Service for Ann Lee
We continue to grieve the loss of our dear friend, sister in Christ, neighbor, and family member, Ann Lee. I need to update you on the arrangements for Ann’s memorial service and how you can best express your condolences for Ken and Ann’s family in this trying time.
We will have a memorial service on Saturday, September 19th, at 1:00pm in the Worship Center at Hope. We are limiting the in-person attendance to Ann’s family only. However, we will have a livestream of the service on Hope’s YouTube channel (just like our Sunday Morning Worship Service). The direct link to the service can be found at hopechurchws.org/livestream
If you wish to express your sympathy in person, Ann’s family will gather immediately after the service – from approximately 2:00-3:00pm – on the outdoor patio directly outside of the Worship Center at Hope. Please be careful to honor the physical distance guidelines but by all means do stop by to greet Ken and Ann’s family if you are available. We all know that this is a stilted and awkward time, yet the urgency of grieving with and caring for each other is at a premium. We earnestly hope that this format allows us to add some warmth and personality to the process even in the midst of COVID.
Face to Face with Jesus
We are launching into a new series of sermons for the balance of the fall up until Advent at the end of November. The pastoral team and I are thrilled to root our church in the Gospels with particular attention to those revealing moments of individuals coming face-to-face with the real Jesus. Our deep desire is that all of us will have to face up to Jesus and see him for who he really is, as he relates to folks personally and intimately. Perhaps, we will come away from these times of focused reflection with a deeper love for him and cherish both his message and his manner!
Peace of Christ,
