Dear Hope Family,
A steady diet of social media, news headlines, articles, and streaming shows can quickly numb the mind and stifle the soul. The pandemic’s flow of such offerings seems endless. While the promise is escape or distraction until the worst of it has passed, the longing for more, for beauty, for something that connects and breathes life into drab places still goes unsatisfied.
The answer, though, is not a greater volume of distractions and media, more articles and lines of reasoning to support our convictions or to deflate our opponents. We need something that can go where arguments and social media cannot.
Two of God’s greatest gifts are music and art – acts of creativity to revive our souls and wake our minds up.
This evening, September 24th at 7:00pm, we are thrilled to showcase the original music compositions of Michael Kuehn, our own Director of Worship, and the photography of our own Hazel Kuehn. Michael will be premiering a suite of 10 piano pieces – Bird Songs – accompanied by Hazel’s photography which served as inspiration for the pieces.
Please do join us this evening at Hope with the prayer that God will use the beauty of Michael and Hazel’s work to restore our sense of wonder and fuel our joy!
Grace and peace,
