Dearest Hope Family,
Psalm 92 lays out a pleasing and restorative rhythm for our corporate worship as God’s people: “It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night.”
As we have adjusted our normal rhythms as a church to accommodate the new boundaries of the pandemic, a bright spot has been the Vespers Service on Sunday evening. It has allowed us both to declare the Lord’s steadfast love in the morning in our worship service and to round out the equation by remembering God’s faithfulness by night. I cannot remember looking forward to gathering as Hope Church more than I have with the Vespers Service.
With the advent of Fall, a new season is upon us in terms of weekly routines, and daylight is quickly fading. So in order to preserve the balanced approach to worship, in order to give our people options for gathering in worship (inside or outside), and in order to deal with the fading daylight, we are moving the timing of the Vespers Service from 7:00pm to 5:45pm. That will begin on September 13th.
We also want to take advantage of the opportunity to gather in safe physical distance with Life Groups, Student Ministry small groups, or just to connect with another family. So as a ramp up to the Vespers service, we are inviting folks to gather from 5:00-5:45pm on the lawn, and then stay for the worship service from 5:45-6:30pm. Please make plans to join us.
Peace of Christ,
