Dick Erali
“The Lord knew me before I knew Him.” This certainly applies to Dick’s life story, even to the event that brought Gail and he together over fifty years ago. Gail grew up in a Presbyterian home while Dick had a more Catholic exposure. Dick committed to the Presbyterian faith while attending a USA Church in Princeton, NJ. While seeking a surgical residency, Dick began to realize that he was in God’s hands and HIS plan was in play. Several events in his life have shown this to be the case. It is His Plan, not ours.
Part of God’s plan was the adoption of Elizabeth and, then, Drew, their adopted children after a season of infertility and the doubts that raised. Then God gave surprised them with Chris!
While living in Tennessee, they transferred to the PCA and found comfort in the doctrine there. Their decision to move from their farm in the Finger Lakes of NY, although met with some heartache, has been a very smart move made with much prayer. They found Hope Church after visiting their son, Drew. They actually made the decision to make Hope their church even prior to the move. Dick felt a calling to serve in the position as Deacon.
With a history of a successful professional career as a Podiatrist behind him, a wonderful wife, three children who trust in the Lord, and two grandchildren at his side, Dick is delighted to be able to serve with the church leadership he has come to appreciate and respect.
