John Petty

John grew up in Portland, Oregon and moved back and forth to North Carolina to complete education and training. He and Tori were married in 1994 and they moved to Winston-Salem in 2005, for John to take a position in pediatric surgery. John continues in the practice of pediatric surgery at Brenner Children’s Hospital.

He and Tori have three adult children: Grace, Aaron, and Hannah. Grace married Timmy Douglas in 2023, and he is a great addition to the family. The Pettys joined Hope Church shortly after moving to Winston-Salem, and have been blessed to be part of this community seeking “True Hope for Real Life” in Christ Jesus.  For fun, John enjoys playing guitar, jogging with friends, and watching college basketball.
