Tom Nicholson

Tom Nicholson, a proud native of Knoxville, Tennessee, and an alumnus of the University of Tennessee, embarked on a new journey alongside his beloved wife of 56 years, Marilyn, when they made Winston-Salem their home in 1997, following BB&T’s acquisition of United Carolina Bank. Tom held the position of Director of Investor Relations at BB&T until his retirement in 2006.

In 2011, Tom and Marilyn found a welcoming community at Hope Church, where Tom initially served as an active elder before transitioning into the role of Elder Emeritus.  Tom enjoys hobbies such as golf, woodworking, travel, and music. Alongside Marilyn, he finds joy in their family, which includes three children and ten grandchildren.
